Welcome to
ChesseLl Pottery Café

Come, relax and enjoy

In the heart of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty

Chessell Pottery Café is set in the heart of the beautiful West Wight of the Isle of Wight, easily accessed from the many surrounding footpaths and bike trails, making it the perfect stop off! Once a working Pottery, it is now a light, spacious and comfortable place to relax and unwind, with food and drinks, and maybe partake in some pottery painting! With three log burners inside to snuggle up in front of on a winter’s day, we also have a beautiful and tranquil courtyard garden where you can chill out under the shade of our Willow tree in summer. The size of our building means it is a fantastic place to meet up with friends, family or have a special celebration.

At Chessell Pottery Café we serve locally-roasted barista coffee, along with a variety of teas, hot chocolates and soft drinks; and being fully licenced, we are happy to serve beers and wines, and the odd cocktail or two!

Chessell Pottery Café

We lovingly hand-bake a vast selection of cakes in our kitchen at Chessell – although the selection changes daily as we have fun finding new recipes to add to our range, most of the traditional cakes can always be found with something to please almost every taste.

Pottery Painting

Pottery Painting is also on offer. Why not book a table in our painting areas and enjoy a couple of hours relaxation!

We offer two types of painting and have lots of different items of pottery to paint, so there is something to please everyone:

  • Acrylic painting is £6 per person studio fee plus the cost of whatever item of pottery you choose to paint on top.
  • Glazed painting is £8.50 per person studio fee, plus the price of whatever item of pottery you choose to paint on top.  This includes the firing and glazing of one piece of pottery.  If you decide to do glazed painting, items are left with us for approximately two weeks to fire and glaze, and then must be collected by the customer – we do not post.
